Our story is really quite simple and very short (for now). In 2002 Rich and his Dad, Rick, began playing music for their church's worship services. It was basically a guitar (Rich), a bass (Rick) and a drum machine (Rich's foot).
The itch to do more started near the end of 2004 when Rick and Rich talked to little brother Rob about forming a band. All three shared a love of Rock & Roll and thought getting out and doing some rock gigs would be fun. For a long time it was dreams and talk, until late 2005. Something clicked on and they decided the time was right to seriously pursue a band. Rob would come in as a lead singer while the elder Wagner's would be on guitars.
They spent nearly the next year playing with a few different good guys. Jeff Johnson joined up in July of '07 to play drums and entertain the rest of the guys. Alter'd State became the real deal with Jeff. In Late '08 Tom Tucker was brought in to play bass and the band only became stronger.
We've been out working in East Tennessee since early 2006 and don't see any sign of slowing down. It is our goal to put on an event for all those guys and gals that bust their butt all week and want to come have fun, hear some tunes they know, and sing along. We do it because we love it.
