It wasn't too bad having real young parents. While it may have took them a while to figure out what they were doing we at least go to listen to some cool music growing up. I have memories of my dad and his old band buddies playing loud rock music in the basement. Growing up in the decadent 80's definitely influenced my outlook on music. To this day because of videos and MTV I still feel like musicians should visually entertain as well as sing and play well.
Bands that have influenced me include Queen, Def Leppard, Warrant, Duran Duran, Huey Lewis and the news (really I liked most all of the hair bands) and the big daddy of them all Guns n freekin Roses. Don’t think I’m weak cause I like melodic rock, and I do not think all that hair spray and make up was cool.
While I like music, I did not inherit the music playing genes of most of the other members of my family. The only instrument I play is air guitar; however I do have a fairly decent singing voice and a lack of shyness, which we are hoping translates onto the stage. My dad and brother always talked about doing a rock band and finally talked me into it. We then assembled a crew of old and new and headed for an Alter'd State.
